Certification Process

This course has 6 units. You must complete each unit prior to proceeding to the next unit. Since you cannot move between units, it is a good idea to take this course in one sitting. If you exit the course for any reason, you will have to start the entire course over.

    Unit 1: Introduction to ICS
Unit 2: Basic Features of ICS
Unit 3: Incident Commander and Command Staff Functions
    Unit 4: General Staff Functions
    Unit 5: Facilities
    Unit 6: Common Responsibilities

After you completed the course, you will be prompted to take the final exam. The final exam consists of 30 multiple choice questions. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass. If you do not pass the final exam after three attempts, you will need to complete the entire course again, starting with Unit 1. You may retake this course as many times as necessary to pass.

Once you have passed the exam, you can print a system generated certificate of completion that verifies your successful completion of the course. In order for you to print the system generated certificate of completion, the computer you are working from must be connected to a functioning printer. If you fail to print the certificate of completion, you will need to retake the course as this site does not track or save course progression or completion information. If necessary, the course administrator can provide a traditional NWCG certificate to the student upon successful completion of the course.

FAQ Question:

1. What if I entered the wrong date for the ICS-100 final exam?

Answer: If you enter the wrong date for the exam, you will need to retake the exam as this site does not track or save course progression or completion information. However, the course administrator can provide a traditional NWCG certificate to the student upon successful completion of the course.
