Training Location Questions

  • Question: Where can I find training in my area?
If you are not already affiliated with a unit of government or NWCG member agency you are not eligible to participate in NWCG training. If you are part of a local governmental agency please contact your State Forestry office to request their "sponsorship" for NWCG training.

If you are eligible to take NWCG training, visit our links page for some course locations or contact your local federal or state fire training office to find out which training oppourtunites are available.

How to Enroll in a NWCG Course

Question:The course I need is not online here. Is it available somewhere else?
If you do not find the course your want on this site (http://training.nwcg.gov), then there is no approved NWCG online version of the course available anywhere else on the internet. If you do find an online version of the course on another internet site, be advised that it has not been approved by NWCG and will not suffice any training requirements.

NWCG Training is currently reviewing its curriculum to determine the feasbility of making available full courses or portions of courses online. Course will be posted as they become available. Notices will also be made on this site regarding courses that are being developed for online prior to their release.

If you need a course that is not available online, you must take it in a classroom setting.
