Introduction
Welcome to S-245, Display Processor Pre Course Work.

In this pre-course work, you will become familiar with basic concepts related to mapping. The pre-course work will take approximately 2 hours to complete. You do not have to submit answers in advance of the course; however, be prepared to discuss the material and apply what you learned during the course.

Objectives
1. Students will obtain basic knowledge related to incident maps, how to read topographic maps and make calculations; and geographic location systems.

Instructions
1. Read Chapters 1, 2, and 3 in Basic Land Navigation (NFES 2865) - see Reference Materials section below - this self-study publication is an introduction to navigation and field mapping. Complete the Checking Your Understanding section at the end of each chapter.
