S-273 Single Engine Air Tanker Manager Pre-Course Work (2003)

Introduction
Welcome to the S-273 Single Engine Air Tanker Manager pre-course work.

In this pre-course work students will utilize several reference materials to familiarize themselves with various aspects of air tanker operations in the wildland fire enviornment. The intent being to bring varying levels of aviation knowledge to a common ground prior to the start of the course.

Objectives
Students will:

1. Read through pre-course work materials and become familiar with their content.

2. Answer questions, study concepts, and follow all instructions in pre-course work.

3. Demonstrate experience level and subject proficiency to instructors.

Instructions
. Download and complete the SEMG Student Information Form and bring it to class or submit it as directed by your instructor or course coordinator.

2. Download S-273 precourse-work 1-3 and respond to questions regarding SEAT operations, contracts, and scenarios. Print and bring your answers to class or submit it as directed by your instructor or course coordinator.

In regards to S-273 Precourse-Work 1, students should read the SIngle Engine Air Tanker Manager Position Task Book to understand the job and also read the Single Engine Air Tanker Operations Guide (ISOG) cover to cover. Students will need to build a SEMG Kit and bring it to class. (Kits can be found in the SEMG Position Task Book and in the ISOG.) Refer to reference material section below.

Read the SEAT Call-When-Needed Aviation Contract to answer questions. Refer to reference material section below.

Read through the secenarios and fill out Aircraft Use Reports (OAS-23). Which can be found and printed by opening the OAS-23 pg. 3 link in the reference material section. For aid in filling out Aircraft Use Reports refer to the Aircraft OAS-23 User Guide in the reference material section.
