Topic: Guiding Principles in Federal Wildland Fire Management Policy
Introduction
This section discusses the nine guiding principles in the current Federal wildland fire management policy, which is the Review and Update of the 1995 Federal Wildland Fire Management Policy, published in 2001 (hereafter referred to as the 2001 Federal Wildland Fire Policy). Knowing and understanding the nine principles is critical because the SOPL's products and recommendations need to be consistent with current Federal wildland fire management policy.
Good Points
The 2001 Federal Wildland Fire Policy is interagency policy that each Federal land management agency adopts and incorporates into its own policy.
